Charleston Free Wi-Fi is brought to you as an amenity by the Charleston Digital Corridor Foundation in partnership with Google and the City of Charleston. More than 4 million people visit the Charleston area each year to attend festivals, relax, sightsee and shop. The Charleston Free Wi-Fi Network, the first free high-speed wireless Internet network for Marion Square, is an important step for economic development efforts in and around downtown Charleston.
Vendors at the Charleston Farmers Market can now use Wi-Fi to process transactions and event managers have a permanent solution that allows them to focus on their event and customers. Tourists and local visitors can use it to access applications to help them navigate the city and stay connected to their social networks.
The Charleston Free WiFi network is owned and operated by the Charleston Digital Corridor Foundation, a 501c6 corporation developed to attract, nurture and promote Charleston's knowledge economy.
